Seth became our 3rd teenager when he celebrated his 13th birthday on May 5. We went to a Brazilian steakhouse as a family and then took a few of his friends to the local fun center to celebrate. Seth is a dedicated, funny, driven, creative, hard working kid and we are so glad he is a part of our family!
Seth also finished up his first track season with personal bests in the 1600m and 800m. After his final track meet, he spent the rest of the month training for his Jr. High’s annual Run the Ridge 5k, which he finished in 21:28, shaving nearly 8 minutes off of his previous 5k mark. Track has been really good for him. :)
Megan moved home from Logan (she says she is happy to be home and back with her family, but I know she is missing living with people her own age and college life. We are sure happy to have her home!) We spent the month of May shopping to get her outfitted for her mission. I think she goes to at least 2 mission farewells for her friends every Sunday and is really looking forward (albeit a little nervously) to her own mission departure. It is a breath of fresh air to have her back in our home full time. :)
Devin finished his Sophomore year of high school in grand form – he has earned a 4.0 the entire year despite taking some really hard classes. He has worked really hard this year! He was also awarded the “Exceptional Sophomore Tenor” of the year award in choir and was pretty excited about that!
Autumn finished her dance season with 3 separate recitals and went through several rounds of auditions before being placed on the Advanced Jazz company for her age as well as the Youth Ballet Company, both of which she is very excited about.
Her lyrical routine – “Breathe Again”
Jazz routine – “We’re Gonna Party!”
Musical Theater – Autumn played a nerd in their “Bye Bye Birdie” production number
Autumn also participated in her school’s chalk art festival and did a great job on her oral book report. She has had a great year in 4th grade!!
Seth was awarded his Life Scout award and Devin earned his Gold Palm. Yay scouts!
We had a house full of guests over Memorial day weekend from my side of the family when everyone came into town for my nephew Brandon’s wedding to his beautiful new bride, Nicole in the Oquirrh Mountain temple. She is wonderful and we were all excited to welcome her to the family! It was a great weekend!!
On a sad note, we had to put our cat, Cookie, to sleep this month. She had leukemia and had taken a real turn for the worse. We will miss her fiesty personality and the love and loyalty she showed to those she trusted.
Tune in next month to hear all about our adventures in the Aloha state! Can’t wait!!

Okay so now you post early, you just have to win at all costs! :) Happy Birthday Seth.
Sorry to hear about Cookie.
I wasn't feeling any pressure to get my blog done because I knew that you were out of town. Why do you have to make us look so bad?? Fun to see all the kids accomplishments and excited to hear about Hawaii!
