Near the beginning of April, I got to go to lunch with a few missionaries in our zone to meet with our Area Coordinating Manager from Uganda, Grace who was visiting for her graduation from Ensign College with her Bachelor's degree and also in town for some training meetings for BYU Pathway worldwide. It was amazing to be able to meet her in person after meeting with her over zoom for several years, and so fun to get to meet other missionaries in my zone as well.

We sadly had to say goodbye to the giant cottonwood tree in our backyard that has been there as long as we have. It was dying and branches were falling off, so it was becoming quite the hazard. We had to hire a tree removal company and it was fascinating to watch them cut off branches as big as a tree and then fly them over our house using a giant crane. Our backyard is going to have practically no shade this summer and I know we are going to miss the shade this tree provided for several years until we can get a new tree to grow tall.
Nora and Kassie took a trip to Idaho to spend time with the Patricks and had a great time. Evan fell in love with both of them and Logan loved having extra arms to hold him.
Bryce and I took a trip to Idaho the week before Easter. We had a great time playing with our grandsons and enjoying time with all of the Patricks, and Megan did some really fun activities that week to celebrate Holy Week, including a passover dinner on a quilt on the kitchen floor.
After having a bridal shower for my niece, Sara at our house, we had an egg hunt on the Saturday before Easter with our kids (I so love that our adult children still love egg hunts!) with those who could make it plus Devin and Levi's friend, Lawrence. We also colored Easter eggs that afternoon.
Bryce and I attended an Easter midnight mass that night to be there for my nephew, Alex Jensen's, baptism into the Catholic church along with his wife Lacey and daughter, Khloe. It was a really interesting service and there were some really beautiful parts. Alex has battled alcoholism for several years and has now been sober for more than 200 days and credits his recovery in part to finding God again through the Catholic church. He is doing so well and we are so happy for him and the positive changes he is making. And we were so happy to be there to support him. No pictures, but it was a cool experience.
On Easter Sunday, several of us chose to attend Sunday Easter services and then we joined together with everyone except the Patricks for an Easter Sunday dinner. Easter is one of my favorite days of the year. How I love my Savior, Jesus Christ!! He is risen!!!
The tulip festival was gorgeous as always this year! Bryce and I went once on our own and then took Grandma Ririe, Autumn and Teddy a different day. Spring flowers are the best!!
At the end of the month, Bryce and I went to see "The Wizard of Oz" at the Scera in Orem. The play was so fun and stage managed by my friend, Alathia. She has worked so hard on this production and it was amazing to see all of her hard work pay off. I forgot to take a picture with her when we met up with her after the play, but here is a pic of Bryce and me before the play.
That's it for April!
