December was busy and fun! We had several different Christmas dinners with various groups that Bryce works with at Ancestry and they were all delicious. Delicious food was a theme this December which may be why we are starting 2024 needing to lose a few pounds, but we have no regrets. :)
Autumn, Bryce and I attended the Luminaria light display at Thanksgiving Point and loved this annual tradition! The lights just keep getting better and more fun and walking around them helps get us in the Christmas spirit each year.
Autumn and I also visited the giving machines in SLC and though we were disappointed to not be able to buy a piglet that was advertised on the website we looked at before going, we were happy to buy a goat, meals and diapers for those in need.
Autumn took a weekend trip to Pocatello with Devin and Levi. Devin and Levi visited with Levi's family while Autumn visited with the Bagleys, one of her favorite companion's families. They all had a fun time! Autumn and I also took a short trip to Boise to visit the Patricks and had a fun couple of days there playing with Evan and his parents. :) We played a lot and also took in an art exhibit at the Discovery museum in downtown Boise.
Evan loves for me to play with him and doesn't yet understand why I can't play with him ALL of the time. I should never have other things to do as far as he is concerned. :)
Autumn and I went to lunch with one of my favorite former Laurels, Alathia. We had a great time! Thanks for always making time for me, Alathia! And for being the one faithful reader of this blog. :):)
After a ton of hard work, Nora officially graduated from BYU with a Bachelors degree in Political Science and minors in Art History, Nonprofit Management, and Political Research. She has applied to several doctorate programs around the country and will hopefully be starting doctorate work this coming Fall. We are so proud of her and all that she has accomplished academically.
Christmas Eve was on a Sunday this year and it was really nice to go to church with Bryce, Autumn, Nora and her girlfriend, Kassie. The sacrament meeting service was beautiful and really brought the Spirit of Christmas.
We also decorated homemade gingerbread houses using Bryce's mom's recipe and patterns (we were so glad that she could join us for our Christmas Eve celebrations!) and had a delicious Christmas dinner.
We enjoyed a quiet Christmas day with just the four of us and then got to have Devin, Levi, Megan, Mitch and Evan join us on the 26th for a family Christmas party and pixie present exchange. I didn't take any pictures on the 26th, but it was tons of fun! Here are a few pictures of Christmas day.
Megan, Mitch and Evan were in town for the week between Christmas and New Years and we enjoyed lots of playtime together. We went to the Discovery museum at Thanksgiving Point and Evan loved playing in all of the exhibits, especially the water one. He was fully drenched by the end!
Bryce and Autumn went skiing on a beautiful winter day at Alta and had a really good time together. They both love the same level of skiing and love their annual tradition of skiing together once a year with Bryce's company's ski passes. :)
That wraps up 2023 for our family. Here's to an awesome 2024!!
