Seth reports nothing but good things from his mission in Las Vegas. We continue to be impressed with his ability to see the good in situations, to work hard and the power of his testimony of Christ. We love and miss his personality at home.

When last we blogged, Bryce was just finishing up our new stone sitting patio in the backyard. He officially finished it on July 4 - just in time for some awesome 4th of July s'mores roasted over our new fire pit. We LOVE our new sitting area and enjoy it frequently.

Sasha loves the new patio too

Enjoying the fire - it was COLD on the 4th of July here - weird!!

4th of July fireworks
Meanwhile, Megan continues to have an amazing summer in Washington DC. She loves where she is interning and does fun things anytime she is not working. She spent her 4th of July kayaking down the Shenandoah River with some friends and then took the train into DC to see the fireworks over the Lincoln Memorial:

She also went to the celebration for the 50th anniversary of man landing on the moon on the National Mall and said it was the best thing she's done since she's been there - Bryce was very jealous.

Autumn and I took a trip to Las Vegas at the beginning of the month for Autumn's last Nationals dance competition. We drove down with her bestie Jacee and Jacee's mom and had a fun few days watching their team compete and dance the best they have all year. I also enjoyed taking in a session at the Las Vegas temple with a few other dance moms while the girls were in class. It was a pretty fun few days!

Road trip!!

The Stake trek planning committee were finally able to take a trip to where we are doing trek at the beginning of August to do a run through and see what the area is like. We had to wait to be able to do it because there was so much snow in the mountains that the roads were impassible. It was fun to ATV the trail and make some concrete plans for our trek. We are going to the mountains above Manti and it is BEAUTIFUL there!! It's going to be an adventure for sure - the trail is not easy. But it's going to be awesome and after months and months of planning, I am so excited to go!!

Connie, Sara and I ready to hit the trail! :)

The gorgeous views
We took a trip to Oregon to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Ririe. Autumn, Devin and I were able to visit a few sights and took Grandma to the beach for a couple of days while Bryce spent all of his time visiting with Grandpa in the hospital and trying to help with some decision making for the future. All of us went to visit Grandpa each day as well. We love Grandpa and Grandma and were grateful for our time in Oregon with them. We wish so desperately that we didn't live so far away right now.

Autumn ended the month by going to EFY and had a great week making new friends and learning new things. And Bryce and I discovered that empty nesting might not be so bad after all :):)

Devin celebrated his 22nd birthday with a family dinner (plus Mitch) at Wingers and then coming to our house for games, dessert and presents. We sure love Devin!!!
