May 2016

May was busy with end of the school year stuff and getting ready for summer. Take a look:

Devin and Megan both found full time summer jobs. Devin is working in the online grocery shopping department at Walmart and really loves his job. He works both “picking” (getting groceries and other items for orders put together) and “distributing” (delivering orders to shoppers who are waiting in the parking area.) His manager loves him because he is so hard working, and I love his job because I now order all of my groceries online, schedule my pickup time for when he is getting off of work, and he brings them home for me. Best. Job. Ever! Still waiting to get a picture of him in his walmart vest, though.

Megan is working in a table factory putting together tables. I am surprised that she loves her job as much as she does. Picturing her using big power tools to put the tables together and then putting together boxes bigger than she is to put the tables in still makes me smile. Crystal got a job at the same factory, so they enjoy working together. Megan also loves that she works 4 10 hour days a week and gets Friday, Saturday and Sunday off each week.

I went to the tulip festival with my good friend Michelle and enjoyed some lovely spring weather and flowers.

Seth celebrated his 16th birthday on May 5 by getting his drivers license, going out to a sushi lunch with me, having a pan of homemade mac and cheese for dinner and then going to Autumn’s compnay dance showcase. (He is such a good brother!!)

He also celebrated turning 16 by going out on his first date the day after his birthday (Seth is definitely our most excited to date so far). He has since been on a few other dates and looks forward to dating more in the months to come...

Autumn had another month packed with dance. She had her company showcase on May 5, her Jr. High dance recital on May 17 (she performed with her Dance 2 class and also performed a duet with her friend Jaycee that the two girls choreographed themselves - it was awesome!), and her ballet and jazz recitals on May 21. Autumn was super sad to have this dance year come to an end as many of her friends are graduating on to highschool drill and dance teams, so this would be their last year dancing together. She also had dance company auditions for next year and has decided to dance on the Teen Touring team - we’re excited to see what this year will bring.

Autumn with her friends Anna and Jaycee after their school recital

We never get tired of seeing this smile on stage. :)
Lots of tears and smiles after the final recital for these long time friends.

Autumn and Seth both had choir concerts that were awesome, as usual. Seth took his AP exam, took finals, and finished a tough academic year with straight A’s - we’re proud of all his hard work. Autumn also earned all A’s, participated in the Jr. High’s Run the Ridge 5k, and celebrated the end of the school year with various parties with her friends.

Autumn was thrilled to get her braces off just before school got out for summer!

Ancestry.com moved their offices to their newly built building that is only 7 minutes from our house near Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. Bryce loves the new buildings and his new view and especially loves his new commute time.

Bryce's office is right under the 'y' in ancestry.

The view from Bryce's desk - he says you can see our neighborhood from there.

A couple of interior views - the office is very modern

We ended the month by taking off for Hawaii, but I’ll include that in our next month’s blog...
