March 2015

A big portion of our March was spent trying to figure out why our Mac kept crashing and then trying to recover all the lost data over and over and over again. It was just tons of fun for Bryce who has learned quite a bit about Macs and gotten completely and utterly infuriated with Apple. But, my genius husband finally has the problem fixed (crossing fingers) and although we lost a bunch of March photos forever :(, here’s a look at our month:

Autumn stayed busy with school and dance - nothing new there. She is absolutely loving her 6th grade year and says it’s her best year ever. She has a great teacher and a class full of friends, so there’s nothing to complain about with her final year of elementary school. Except maybe that it is coming to an end. We went to Jr. High orientation this month and Autumn is excited for varied classes, lockers and a bigger school and nervous for all of the same things. :)

Seth is busy with play rehearsals and school and hanging with friends. I did get a call one day from the Jr. High informing me that Seth had hurt his knee during PE and asking if it was okay for them to give him Advil. I said sure and forgot about it until Seth came into our room that night before bed saying that his knee was still hurting. This is what it looked like:

It took several weeks, but the swelling and pain have completely healed.

We did a whole lot of singing in March. Seth sang a duet with his friend Ryan at Solo and Ensemble, Devin competed in his first vocal competition and both Devin and Seth had choir concerts that were awesome.

Then it was off to NYC for even more singing. Devin, Megan and I had an awesome 5 day trip to the Big Apple full of fun experiences, including...

Megan and I meeting up with one of my favorite former laurels, Ali, for dinner and a trip to the Manhattan temple

Visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on a cold and snowy day

Megan and I running through Central Park the morning after the cold and snowy day - it was serioulsy breathtakingingly beautiful and definitely a highlight for both Megan and me

Going to the Museum of Math, or MoMath, or as Megan likes to call it “heaven on earth”. She and Bryce could move in here and be happy forever. :)

Visiting Times Square

Going to see “Aladdin”, “The Lion King” and “Phantom of the Opera” on Broadway - all amazing!

Going to Church in the Manhattan temple building and visting the Lincoln Center

Seeing the views from the Top of the Rock - gorgeous!

Visiting the 9/11 Memorial and Museum

Visiting the NYC Public Library, Natural History Museum and Belvedere Castle. And of course the highlight...

Seeing Devin and the rest of the Lone Peak High School Chamber Singers sing in Carnegie Hall both with the National Youth Choir and on their own as Featured choir - it was so AMAZING and they were SO good!!

So that is pretty much our March. Hope you all have an amazing April! :)

Well, gosh. That was kind of an amazing trip to NYC. 3 broadway plays - no fair. Singing in Carnegie Hall - wow. I love that picture of Seth's knee. I'm so sorry but I laughed.
