Autumn had a week long dance camp for her LPHS Performing Dance Company. She had a blast dancing, learning choreography, taking team pictures, getting to know everyone on her team and walking and dancing in the Alpine Days parade.

We went up AF Canyon one Sunday evening for dinner, s'mores and games. We love living so close to the beautiful mountains!

We took an afternoon and evening and went to SLC, where Bryce, Seth and I did a session at the Salt Lake temple while Autumn did baptisms and then we went this really cool art exhibit at the Church history museum and went out for dinner.

My Uncle Gary (my mom's older brother) passed away after a long illness. It was good to get together with extended family and remember this gentle giant of a man.

We just spent some fun times together as a family

Seth and Raeleigh swordfighting. Raeleigh does not back down and kept going after Seth, screaming "I am a warrior princess!!" It was the best! :)

Autumn trying to teach Seth how to do "partner yoga". This didn't end well. :)

Hanging out together :)

Seth and I at the Oquirrh Mountain temple. In the month he was endowed before leaving on his mission, we visited the Mt. Timp, Provo City Center, Oquirrh Mountain and Salt Lake City temples.
A friend of mine took a few pictures of Seth for his mission plaque:

We were privileged enough to attend Anders and Miriam's temple sealing on August 18. It was a beautiful day filled with family and happiness. So happy for the two of them!!

Megan and her best friend, Crystal, took a weeklong camping and hiking trip to Banff in Canada and to Glacier National Park. They had a great time and saw some beautiful scenery, despite all the smoke from the wildfires in the area.

On August 19, Seth gave his farewell talk in sacrament meeting about putting Christ at the center of our lives. It was a really great talk! Afterwards, we had a lunch at our house for family and friends who wanted to wish him well before he left on his mission.

On August 20, Autumn started her first year at LPHS as a Sophomore. There are things she loves about high school and other things, not so much, but she is adjusting and doing well. She loves going to the football games and other fun events and becoming a "real" high school student.

Autumn and her friends ready to go to the Blacklight dance - they had a blast!
On August 21, Megan started her second semester of grad school at USU. She is LOVING her grad school program!!

On August 21, Seth was set apart as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and then on August 22, we dropped him off at the airport where he flew to Las Vegas to report for his mission. He was so ready to go and we were excited to see him begin this next great adventure.

We had to wait 8 long days to get his first real email, but now we know he is thriving as a missionary and working hard. And Devin continues to do great things as a missionary in the Phoenix area. We are so proud of both of our Elder Riries! (Devin has started calling himself Elder Ririe the Elder and Seth calls himself Elder Ririe the Younger :))

Glad Devin's sewing skills are coming in handy so he can mend his companion's pants ;)

Devin and his current companion, Elder Barlow

Seth and his companion, Elder Day

Good to know Seth is still Seth :)

Seth with Brother and Sister Ririe from his ward - they have become his adopted grandparents
To celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary, Bryce and I went to iFly Utah in Ogden and went indoor skydiving. It was sooooo much fun!! Maybe next year we will try the outdoor version...

That's it for August!! Hope you have a great month. :)
