February 2017

We did a few fun things in February - take a look..

Seth has been working hard since January in his track training and was rewarded at his first timed mile of the season when he hit a new personal best.  Unfortunately, I missed it since I was home with the stomach flu, and Bryce who was there to cheer him on, didn't take any pictures.  But it was a happy moment for Seth.  He continues to train and will start the outdoor track season this week, so more on that next month.

Autumn and Seth both spent the majority of their free time with their friends.  Sometimes Bryce and I feel like empty nesters even though we technically have 2 children "living" at home.  Here are a couple of pictures of Autumn with her friends - one at a friend's birthday breakfast and one on yet another ski day with a couple of her friends.  It's so great that my nephew works for a company that has mostly unused ski passes since we can use them whenever we want for free.  Bryce, Autumn and I have been having fun with that this season.

Autumn got her school dance team pictures done on a very snowy, cold day up American Fork Canyon.  She has really enjoyed dancing on her jr. high team this year and all of the cute girls she gets to dance with.

Megan is doing well in Logan.  She did come home for one three day weekend this month and it was so good to spend some time with her.  She is loving USU and all the fun things she is learning and doing there.

We often joke (not really joking) that Seth is going to starve when he moves out on his own because he is too lazy to make his own food.  Just as one (of many) examples, he came home from school one day and announced that he REALLY wanted belgian waffles and asked me to make him some.  Wanting to encourage him to occasionally make his own food, I told him he could have the waffles if he made them himself.  He pouted some and then just waited for Autumn to get home from school and talked her into making them for him.  Autumn said she would do it if he helped, and it did make me happy to see them working together in the kitchen. :)

Devin left the safe confines of the MTC and traveled to his assigned area in the Arizona Scottsdale Mission!  It was so fun to talk to him for a while when he was at the airport and to hear that he really is as happy as he sounds in his letters.  He told us that his favorite part of being a missionary so far is teaching lessons because he loves to teach and feel the Spirit guiding him with what to say and questions to ask. :)  He is loving his first area in Northern Phoenix serving in the Spanish speaking Catalina Branch and the English speaking Osborn ward.  He gets along well with his trainer, Elder Velasco, who is from Chile.  Thanks for your continued love, support and prayers!!

Devin with his much loved district at the MTC

This is my favorite picture!  Devin as the "third wheel" companion to the other 2 Elders in his MTC district. :)

Autumn had her first competition of the new dance season with her studio competition team, and they are really, really good.  She loves competition season, which is good since it tends to get a little crazy and demanding!!

Contemporary - "Heart Beat" - this dance is amazing and won 2nd place overall teen group dance for the ENTIRE competition!

Autumn also competed her duo with her friend Brighton for the first time and they took 1st place and also got a perfect score from one of the three judges - that does not happen very often in dance!  Once I get a decent video, I'll share it with you. :)

We ended February with Seth taking the dreaded ACT with the rest of the Juniors from his high school.  I found him later that afternoon curled up on the dog bed in the sunshine recovering from the test.

Happy March everyone!!
