July began with us in Oregon for the Ririe family reunion. We had such a fun few days with family and wished that we could have stayed longer. It was fun to share memories of the Bull Mountain house before heading to the coast. A few of our favorite things were...
Playing on the beach (typical windy Oregon beach)...

Exploring the tidepools and looking for agates and sea glass...

Hiking to the top of little bear’s hump...

Going whale watching and seeing a whale...

Having a bonfire on the beach...

Spending time with family...

Thanks for another great family reunion, Grandma and Grandpa!!
In other July news, we went as a family to see “Big River” at Hale Center Theater. It’s a musical version of the Huck Finn story and we all LOVED it.

Bryce dropped a can on his big toe on a Sunday morning and ended up having to go to urgent care later that day to have a hole drilled in his toenail to relieve the pressure and blood that was building up there. He is on the mend, though the dr said his toenail will eventually fall off completely.

Bryce and I went on several hikes in preparation for our hike to the top of Mount Timp that we will be doing in August. We sure live in a beautiful place here and we have been having fun exploring the mountains around our home more.

Devin celebrated his 19th birthday by working his regular shift (already like the adult he is), after which he opened presents, we went to dinner as a family and then he had a huge group of friends over for games and party time.

Just as a note, for those of you who haven’t heard or who are wondering about Devin’s mission call, we found out this month that he won’t be submitting his mission papers until November. Devin is handling this whole process like a champ and is proving to be resilient and faith-filled and we couldn’t be more proud of him. He is registered for fall classes at BYU and will be moving back to Provo at the end of August. He’s excited to be going back to school and has already secured a great job doing microbiology work at a lab on campus, which he’s really excited about.
That’s it for our July - love to you all!
