Hard to believe we are already staring another year, but here we go…
We took a trip to Salt Lake City to visit The Leonardo. It’s a hands-on exploring type museum and we all had a lot of fun working on art projects, creating films and learning about green screens as well as learning more about the area we live in. It was fun!
Seth started back up with basketball games and is having fun with that again this year. I’ll have to take some pictures to share next month. He is also keeping busy with Storytelling Troupe and scouts.
We went ice skating as a family and all had fun. Autumn slipped all over the place, smiling the entire time (in typical Autumn fashion). Even Seth, who didn’t want to go, improved his ice skating skills and admitted it was pretty fun.
All the kids finished their first semester of school having learned a ton and with great grades. We can’t believe the school year is half over already!
Bryce and Devin went on an overnight campout up to some hot springs above Spanish Fork. It snowed about 8 inches the night they were camping, so they came home soaked, but having had a great time!
Megan went to her school’s Preference dance with her good friend Josh Broekhuijsen (extra points if you can pronounce his last name correctly!) and they had a really fun time together. She has been looking forward to this dance for quite a while, went with a great group of friends and I think the night definitely lived up to her expectations.
For Christmas, we gave the kids tickets to a Brian Regan concert, which we went to at the end of January. It was a blast! So funny and a great evening together.
Autumn competed in her first dance competition of the season at a competition in Salt Lake. This particular competition was part of a dance convention where she had 5 hours of dance workshop classes, then competed in a dance down (which Autumn won for her age division – way to go, Autumn) and THEN competed in 2 dances (one lyrical and one hip-hop) with her team. They took 1st in both of their dances and Autumn is even more excited for upcoming competitions. She is definitely a performer and it’s good for her to have an outlet for all her dramatic “skills”. :)
That’s it for January! Hope you all have a happy February!
