It was cold and we did nothing. The end.
Just kidding. Well, it was cold (very) but we didn’t get all the snow that Rob did back east, so we can’t complain too much. And we didn’t do too much beyond the normal stuff, but here’s a few things:
Seth started another season of basketball. He is one of the smaller kids on his team but one of the best on defense – the guy he is guarding rarely, if ever, gets past him. He loves to dribble and pass the ball, too. We love watching him play! He also got “the spreader” put into his mouth and is in the process of having his jaw widened a little so he can get his first round of braces put on in a couple of weeks.
Devin tried out for the Jr. High musical “Fiddler on the Roof” and was cast as one of the bottle dancers (in the wedding scene, I think) and will be in the ensemble as well. He also went camping with his Scout troop on their annual Klondike campout and had a great time as always.
Autumn is still keeping busy with dance and playing with her friends. She is having her first ever “late night” with a bunch of her friends in a couple of weeks and is counting down the days. Oh, we also finally gave in and let her get her ears pierced. She is super responsible about keeping them clean.
Megan was very excited to find out that, after a lengthy application and interview process, she was selected as one of the 15 young people to serve on the Highland City Youth Council. She was sworn in this month and will serve as Historian throughout the year. The Youth Council meet twice a month and plan and carry out service projects for the city all year long. They also play a huge part in planning and carrying out our Highland Fling in August – the city’s weeklong annual city celebration. She is having a lot of fun so far and loves being involved with the community.
Well, that’s January for us! Have a great month!

Seth - That is sick. Ellie had a huge "appliance" put in her mouth when she was your age. You're so very brave.
Devin - I love Fiddler on the Roof! it is one of my favorite plays. I hope you have fun doing it.
Megan - City Council sounds cool. Anders is applying for our city council. Hopefully you can compare notes someday.
Autumn - You were already beautiful, but I love the earrings. Have fun at your lateover.
I'm wondering if Seth is actually some kind of Cyborg...That doesn't look fun.
You sure do keep every one busy. Sure wish we lived closer so we could watch everyone do their parts.
After looking at the blog and talking to all of you on the phone I have a better picture of everyone. What a great bunch of kids you are. Good luck with all your fun activites. Love to all of you. Love Grandma
