We are loving summer around here! The hot weather, late nights, and less scheduled life are awesome! We kept plenty busy in July and our only complaint (besides a yucky week of the stomach flu that infected everyone except Autumn and Devin) is that summer is going by much too fast!
Devin, Seth and Autumn all kept busy with swim meets. They have all improved a lot over last year and continue to enjoy swimming each day and competing in the meets. Only one more to go before the season is over for another summer. :(
My sister, Kim and her family came for a visit and we hiked to Timp Caves again while they were here. The kids all really enjoyed having their cousins around!
We took a short camping trip up American Fork Canyon to our favorite campground – Granite Flats. We enjoyed the cooler temperatures, going for long walks in the mountains and yummy camping food!
Megan and I spent a week at Girls Camp and we both had a great time! All of our 35 young women were able to come for the entire week and we made a lot of really fun memories. Megan really enjoyed being a YCL and getting to be one of the leaders. It was a super hot week, but we enjoyed being in the great outdoors anyway.
We celebrated Devin’s 13th birthday as a family a week early because he celebrated his actual birthday (today!) at scout camp up at Bear Lake where I am sure he is having the time of his life! We are excited for him to come home and share all of his adventures with us! And we are excited to have another official teenager in our home!
Megan left this week for a trip to Chicago to visit her Holloway cousins and then she and her cousin Beth are headed to Nauvoo next week for EFY. She has been planning and saving for this trip for 3 years and is having the time of her life. We can’t wait to hear all about EFY in Nauvoo when she gets home in a week. She was really excited when she found out that the kids get to bring their temple recommends and do baptisms for the dead in the Nauvoo temple as part of EFY. I am sure she will have lots of experiences to share with us when she gets home.

I sure enjoy your blog. You do such a great job and it keeps us up todate on what you are doing. Thanks so much. Sounds like it all comes from one side of the family however.
Thanks. Grandpa Ririe
Looks like lots of fun summer memories. I'm excited to hear about efy and scout camp.
