May festivities

May started with Seth's 8th birthday on May 5 and we celebrated by going as a family (minus Bryce - work can be such a pain!) to Jump On It! and had a great time jumping all over the place. It took nearly an hour, but Michelle finally mastered jumping off the trampoline on the wall to the one on the ground without landing on her face - it was a proud moment!

We had lots of soccer games for Seth and Autumn and they both improved lots this season. Autumn was having a great time towards the end of the season scoring goals and keeping up with all the boys on her team, but when we asked her if she wanted to play again next year, she said no because it's "too much running for a girl". She has since changed her mind and we look forward to another great year of soccer for her next year.

Michelle got to celebrate Mother's Day by having Autumn wake her up by saying "Mom! It's raining in the family room!" Sure enough, the kids bathroom had flooded and water was pouring out of the ceiling downstairs. Lucky for us, we were just about to the drywall stage in the basement and have had the drywall guys fix the holes in our ceiling at the same time. All's well that ends well, right?

Megan had her final choir concert for the year, which left her sad that she decided not to take choir next year, but she just didn't have the time in her schedule since she had to add seminary for next year. She also played a song in Sacrament Meeting that was very challenging for her (many months of practice and many tears during practice), and she did an amazing job! All that hard work definitely paid off!

We had our final filming night for Devin's class project with all the families from the class and after the filming was finished, they let us watch the part they have done and edited and it looks pretty good. It's never fun to see your face on a huge projection screen, but Devin was happy with how it has turned out so far, so I guess it's worth it.

Devin and Seth also performed in their school's musical extravaganza with Seth's grade performing songs from "The Sound of Music" and Devin's grade doing songs from "Wicked" - it was lots of fun to watch and they both did great!

Autumn graduated from preschool (much to Michelle's disappointment - why do they keep getting older?) and was so much fun to watch! She is definitely an enthusiastic little performer and kept us all in stitches watching her - it was a delight!

The kids all finished school on May 30 - now we are all looking forward to an awesome summer vacation!!

Of course, the culminating event for the month was Seth's baptism on May 31. It was a wonderful day! Seth's smile coming up out of the water was priceless and the day spent with family was awesome! Definitely no better way to end a month!! See you all next time!
